Halloween 2011

R is really into the Disney show Jake and Neverland Pirates. So she insisted that we would all be pirates for Halloween. I do have to say that my kids costumes turned out pretty cute. I made 80% of P's and 30% of R's. It made me feel pretty good about my "no sew" skills.

This year my kids had the chance to celebrate Halloween twice. We joined Grandma Diane, Auntie Sarah, Auntie Laura and her kids Sydney and Damion at their Trunk or Treat. R thought it was great. All she had to do was walk around and she got candy.

R and Sydney. We had lost Damion at this point. He was REALLY excited, and got ahead of us!
Sydney: a princess, R: a pirate, and Damion: batman
checking out the loot.  R was even more excited to find out that wasn't even Halloween. That the real Halloween was 4 days later!
Halloween morning I made jack-o-lantern pancakes for the kids
P made a big mess with these!
Then P decided to take his first steps by himself. Bad picture, but you get the idea! :) YAY P!!!
Then we met my sister to watch her 2 youngest kids in their school costume parade. Kyler was a secret agent. He had the attitude to go with it. It was awesome!
Kayla was going to be a bride, but the night before Halloween she changed into a ballerina(using her mom's old dance costume)
 The crowd enjoying the parade
Then off we went to the downtown "Safe Halloween". Aren't my pirates super cute!
My sister taped a mustache onto P's binki! CUTE
 Getting some MORE candy!
 My 2, my sister Missy's 3 and Missy's friend's 4.
R was so funny. She hung onto Kayla's skirt the whole time. Way to be safe, R!!!
After we go a lot more candy, we visited Great Grandma Bolen
Then Jared was able to join us that night for neighborhood trick-or-treating. I do say my family makes the cutest pirates EVER!!! Jared you such a good sport! (thanks Demings for the costume!)
R trick or treating at one of her best friends, Juliet's house. She is the witch in the background.
My little pirate princess skipped around the whole neighborhood. She loved Halloween.
A few days later I was reading the Springville news paper and on the back page found this picture.

Out of literally thousands of kids, our kids made it into the newspaper. If you click on the picture it will make it bigger and you can see my cue pirate with her orange pumpkin next to the ballerina Kayla. And NO this isn't Jared dressed up. But pirates were a big hit with a lot of people!  All in all Halloween was fun. R has a massive bag of candy that she eats 2-3 pieces a day. She doesn't really care for it. She would do it all again just for the experience! Funny kid!

Happy Halloween to everyone!

This is a VERY unattractive video of me, and R was shooting so its not the best. But it was taken a few minutes after his first steps! Enjoy!
