TULIP FESTIVAL

My favorite thing to do in April is go to the Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival. We had tried to go on Saturday April 18th, but the Bloom-o-meter was only at 40%. I didn't want to pay $10 to not even see 1/2 the tulips bloomed. So we were able to go again on Thursday the 23rd with the Demings. Not even a week later and the Bloom-o-meter was already at 85%. That just shows how short this great even lasts!
For tickets in the "Gardens" you get a sticker. Because R was free she decided she wanted mine! But the funny thing was Kiara had stuck her sticker on her hip, and R took hers off her shirt and stuck it to her leg (notice the arrows) to try to be like Kiara!
Not that flattering of any of us, but its a family shot with the tulips!
I knew I had wanted to go to the festival in April, so in March I started preparing R to smell flowers. She actually understood what she was doing at the festival! Not to mention it makes for a very cute picture!
Cute pic of a homeless looking child! Notice her right knee. Poor thing has decided now that she can wear shorts, to fall ALL THE TIME!!! She happens to fall on that same knee every time. Pretty Pic
We ARE the tulips!
Being tricky at the Italian part of the gardens
Now the boys turn! This really was harder than they are making it look!

Anyone thinking that its too expensive to go to Thanksgiving Points Tulip Festival should really think about going next year! I recommend it to everyone (but if you have kids make sure to bring a stroller there is a lot of walking!)

EASTER FUN!!

R hit the jackpot this Easter. She was able to do 3, yes 3, Easter egg hunts. The first one was the annual Springville City one which I like to call the "Easter Race". It is held on the football field at the high school. There is no hiding involved, and the kids just race out and grab as much as they can. This is R and her cousin Hallie(in the pink) lining up to race for the candy!

Figuring out that she gets to pick up the candy and keep it! :)Easter Egg Hunt #2

This was at my parents house with my sister Missy's kids (after the Springville one). We had to do it inside because it was raining outside. I really enjoyed how we did this one. Each kid had their own color of Easter Egg so each got the same amount of eggs, and candy. GREAT IDEA!
Not realizing yet that there is candy inside!

R with her Easter basket full of her purple eggs!

Easter Egg Hunt #3

I named this picture"The race is on.....". This was right as we opened up the gate at Jared's parents house. Mia isn't even in this picture because she was already running! Funny!

By this time she had it down pack on what she was suppose to be doing! She even knew what was waiting inside! I guess they are right who say kids learn the best by repetition.

R with her cousins checking out their loot!
That all happened on Saturday. Now for the real Easter Day. We went up the canyon and took some fun pictures of R in her Easter dress. Here are a few!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. From all your blogs it sounds like you all did. Keep blogging, I love reading updates on you and your family!

Dying Easter Eggs!

Easter is fast approaching, and everyone should dye Easter Eggs. I realized that we had not dyed Easter Eggs. Last year we attempted, but R didn't really understand . So this year, we invaded Darwin and Kiara's house, and colored Easter Eggs!
This is R getting ready. I prepared for the worst not knowing how she would actually do, but I knew it would be messy.

This was the first dip. I wish I had a video camera, because after this she threw it into the tub of dye! Nice thinking on the grubby towels underneath Kiara!

Trying to be independent and use the tool to get the egg out!

Everyone stopping from the egg magic for a picture!

Here are our finished masterpieces! A cool trick Kiara showed us, the egg on the far left had veggie oil added to the dye and it came out like that. This picture doesn't do it justice, but it was a fun twist! Be sure to do those eggs last because the dye stays like that after the oil is added! Thanks for letting us crash your house D & K!! Sorry about your shirt K!!!
