Advantages of Cars!!!
So we DON'T have a car, but some VERY kind people in our ward are on vacation in Europe for a month and have lent us their car. Therefore we have been able to discover more of the Sydney area. Since most names wouldn't mean anything to most of you I made a map to explain where we have been traveling to!! It kind-of looks far, but in good traffic(which doesn't happen very often) we can drive to downtown Sydney where the Opera House is in about 30 minutes. I didn't put a black dot, but you can see the airport symbol. We live REALLY close, which is good for Jared who bikes it when we don't have car! Driving it takes about 6-8 minutes to get to the International airport, and 10-12 min. to the Domestic airport(where Jared works)!!!
We live about a mile from the ocean. But our beaches don't have big waves because it is a bay, called Botany Bay. This next post is from the Botany Bay National Park, where Captain Cook(who discovered Australia) first landed. Then finally the last dot is where the Royal National Park is(from the last post). Because it isn't as crowded, it only took about 35 mintues to get to the entrance. Is so cool that all these things are so close. We wouldn't ever know it, without a car!
My little bug at the visitor's center!
Its bad lighting, but these is the monument behind us where Captain Cook first landed in Australia.
I don't think R has a future carrer as Vanna White.
I REALLY like this picture. Most of my smiles are forced, and most people can tell. But we both were really laughing in this picture. Of course R took this picture, but this isn't the 1st one. If you remember in my last post, I made fun of Jared for not knowing how to squint normal. Well, she took the 1st picture and showed us and Jared was closing his eyes from trying to squint. Anyways, I said take another one. So she did, but right before she did she said "Dad open your eyes so you don't look silly!" What a funny little girl!
R's favorite part of the National Park- playing hide and seek!!
We then drove around a little to the entrance of the bay-still in the National Park. BEAUTIFUL!!!!! My camera SUCKS, because it totally doesn't do this place justice! No beaches here, just cliffs!
I REALLY love having a car, but we are doing what we have to!! The countdown is on..... as of now, I am still coming on the 23rd! YAY!!!! I am a little nervous about the long flight and being prenant. Does anyone have any tricks to make the flight a little more comfortable???

New Find & 4th of July Weekend
Jared FINALLY had a day off, so we decided to take advantage of that! Plus we temporary have a car that a ward member has lent us. Only a 30 minute drive away is the Royal National Park. Because it is winter there weren't too many visitors which was GREAT! But we found a beautiful spot. Its a short hike down, which R did ALL BY HERSELF, from the parking lot to the ocean. Looking carefully at the picture below you can see the surprise. There is a lagoon(bottom left), a sandbar, then the ocean.
This picture is by the lagoon looking towards the sandbar and the ocean! BEAUTIFUL!! The water was SO clear, and you can swim in it if you want. It is WINTER so we didn't jump in, but wanted to!!
This is looking back into the lagoon. The parking lot is at the top and to the left of the waterfalls!
Standing on the sandbar looking out into the ocean! I love that my husband doesn't know how to squint normal. What a geek!
R has become VERY good at writing. She has figured out how to write a handful of names all by herself. This is her practicing in the sand!
The end result with NO help from anyone! She does need help with "G", but still pretty good for someone who just turned 3!!!
Jared playing around on the huge rocks while R was writing in the sand!
We climbed up onto the cliffs, and went to a look out. During June and July you can usually see whales. So we hung out up here and saw about 8 whales. Kind-of far away, but still pretty cool!

This is near the parking lot where we had a picnic. What a beautiful view while we ate!
Singing Happy Birthday(2nd time, one more to come!) and R loving the attention!
After we decided to do fireworks. Ok just sparklers, but we tried to be festive. Jake Dull is an American too, so we thought it would be fun.
This is Charlie, R, and Jonah. They loved the sparklers, and we thought that we had bought enough until my brilliant husband...........
decided to multi-task and light 1 sparkler while holding the rest in the same hand. The end result? They ALL lit on fire and burned out LONG before we could even get them to any of the kids!!! Way to ruin the fun honey!!! Leave the multi-tasking to me!!! :)
Its a little blurry, but this was R's first sleepover. Wow, still a little young but fun. These 2 didn't fall asleep until after midnight. Which caused some moody little ladies the next day!
We had a fun weekend. Love that our friends were able to come down and stay with us. Even if they had to pack their whole house up just to stay the night! It was fun!!!

Our friends, the Dulls, from the central coast came down for the weekend. While here we cooked R a REAL birthday cake and let the 2 girls decorate it. This was taken at the beginning of the decorating, but for some reason they kept putting the sprinkles in the same spot. It was THICK in the middle, and still white on the outsides. But they loved it!
P.S. Still trying to come to Utah. The earliest that we(me and R) are trying is the 22nd of the this month(yes 2 weeks away)!!! The reason we don't know for sure is because we are using Jared's benefits and the tickets are stand-by. So we won't FOR SURE know until the day before when we are able to purchase the tickets! I would LOVE to see as many people as possible. I am thinking around the first of August sometime! I SHOULD be there by then!!! Let me know what you think!

My baby turns 3!!!
Crazy that my little lady turns 3!!! Unreal to think that it has been 3 years since I was sitting in Richfield at a track and field meet and went into labor! Giving birth to this munchkin 2 1/2 hours from my house. I hate that I don't have my old computer here in Australia which has all my photos from when she was born. So here are pictures of her birthdays. The only reason I have pictures of her 1st birthday on here, is because R's second mom Kiara thankfully blogged about her birthday, and posted these pictures(thanks K)!
1st birthday. Look at my cute baldy with a bruise/scab on her forhead! Very attractive!
So little! Yes that is a Victoria's Secret bag-FUNNY!
Happy 2nd birthday. Poor kid I am now seeing a trend, check out her cute arm!
Chubba checks!!!
Now for her 3rd birthday we went to Sydney(luckily Jared had the day off). They have a science museum called the Powerhouse Museum. Jared and I decided after that it was as kid friendly as we wanted, but R LOVED pushing EVERY button at each display!
1st birthday. Look at my cute baldy with a bruise/scab on her forhead! Very attractive!
They had an exibit called "The 80's" It was pretty fun! This is Jared and R playing the WAY OLD school video games. For some reason I can really remember these at Pizza Hut(when you actually went there and sat to eat)! Comes to find our R is actually pretty good at Pac Man!!!
HUGE light up rubix cube(I don't even know if that is how you spell it)!!
They did have a little kids area where they pushed these carts around and pick up "bricks" then take them over to a framed house where they had to build it. They had to wear these cute orange vest(like the real workers). R thought she was pretty special!
We found an art area, where Jared and R of course HAD to stop to color! My kid is addicted!
Don't feel to bad for her, yes this was her birthday night and her birthday "cake". But we were having friends come over the weekend and knew we would make a real cake for her then. She really didn't care, it had frosting on it!!! :)
Blowing out her candles. And you might say where is the injury this year? Answer, non until this point, and not really an injury. After singing and blowing out the candles I was pulling out her candles and looked at R's fringe(bangs for us Utahans) and she burned the ends! Nothing too bad, but still funny! She must have got to excited blowing the candles out!
LOVING the cupcake!! They actually were pretty tasty!
This year R has it made! We celebrated her birthday on her birthday 30th June(Wednesday). Which these pictures are from. Then we had R's friend and her family come stay with us this weekend and had cake and fireworks for her birthday and for the 4th of July(pictures to come). Then hopefully we will be in Utah on the 22ndish give or take some days. Then while we are there we are going to have a small family party for her birthday. I didn't want anyone to send over her presents because it is SO expensive, so ANOTHER party for her(pictures I am SURE will come). Spoiled little lady, but this is the last birthday she will be the only child! I CAN spoil her!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY LITTLE LADY!!!!
