A Break Through!!

So I have been kind of worrying about R lately. She is a very social person when she knows the kid/kids. When she is in nursery she does GREAT! But I we have been living down the street from this park for 3 months now, and have been going at least 2 times a week. Its a big park, so there are usually a lot of kids! While we are there, I have tried to meet other mom and kids so that R would play with them. She wants NOTHING to do with them. She would rather me chase her around and play with her. We go to this kids thing at the library and she just sits with me the whole time.
Today we had a break through. The secret-take a toy car with you. There was the cutest little boy, Jason who is not very shy. He rode by on his bike and started talking to us. Next thing we know he drops his bike off with his mom, and came over and the 2 of them started playing together with the car. They played together for almost an hour. She never once came over and wanted me!!!! It was AMAZING!!! I watched and they even got an older boy playing with them too. I walked over and the toy car was the winning ticket. They loved sending it down the many slides, and down the ramps. It was SOOOO cute. A lot of kids get annoyed with R because her language skills aren't the best, but it didn't seem to bother them.

At one point they would grab each other's hand to lead the other to where they wanted to go. SO CUTE!!! Today was a VERY proud moment for me as a mom, and for R and her comfort zone! I hope that it shows things to come!

how cute. It's so nice to see kids come out of their little shells and start being social "big kids"

yay R! and for the record, i think she is totally normal. sophie is the same way with people she doesn't know. it must have something to do with the age.

(looks like a fun playground!)

Leave it up to a cute boy to pull her out of her shell! What a fun park!

It also might have something to do with you being pregnant. Kids for some reason just know that they are not going to be number 1 anymore. I've had quite the hard time with Kinzey. Also, it could be a phase. Kinzey comes and goes with her shyness.
