Chicago- Day 2 of 3

The morning got off to a slow start. We ate breakfast at IHOP which was near our hotel, then headed to Target to buy food for the next few mornings. We also bought R a scarf, which she ended up LOVING and APPRECIATING!

My kids learned the need to layer their clothes. R and P both wore leggings under their jeans, and wore 2 long sleeved shirts under their coats and R used her new scarf. I brought P's fleece shirt and tied it around his face as a scarf.  It made for a more happy little boy! Plus they both had snow gloves on!

Us all bundled up for our day out with a high of 18 degrees and WIND!!!!!!
We had to walk from the train station across a bridge and through a park to get to our destination!
It was COLD!!!!!!

But we finally made it to Shedd's Aquarium.
We had read good things about it, and being inside was a huge selling point!

Shedd's has really cool tanks with fish from all over the world. They had some amazing fish! They also had bigger animals, such as sea lions, dolphins, sharks, and belugas.   R was most fascinated with seeing the beluga whales.  They were stunning. R has LOVED researching belugas for a long time, so to actually see them was a highlight for her!

 Penguins
 Dolphins
They had a show, kind-of like a VERY small version of a sea world show. The aquarium sits right on the lake's edge and make for stunning views!
Everyone LOVED the show. I took pics, but they were all blurry. They showed off the belugas, dolphins, and penguins!
Then we headed to the shark tunnels
 P liked the puffer fish

By the time we left it was dark.
Chicago is a beautiful city at night too!

It was a VERY cold day, but we all had a great time at the aquarium!
