We ran down to Cedar City(2 1/2 hours away) for a quick getaway. My brother Mitch and his wife
EvaLynn live down there. We got there and they took us to this VERY fun park called Park Discovery! It was so cute, and R LOVED it!

They have normal playground equipment, but designed in a fun way!

Even some non-traditional things. We had a competition on this! I think
EvaLynn won.

There are MANY little tunnels,
cubbies, and hallways to adventure through!

R finding Uncle Mitch hiding in the top of one of the roofs

See, this was taken laying down looking up!

Me and my cute baby having fun on a swing!

Just for fun

BEAUTIFUL ZION
The next day we got up and drove to Zion Canyon. There were many dark clouds over the road we had to drive on, and wondered it we would even be able to hike because of the rain. But it turned out to be BEAUTIFUL and couldn't ask for anything better!
My cute men in my life

Crossing the bridge to the trail of Emerald Pools.

The Lower Falls.

P LOVED looking up at the waterfall coming down

The trail to the upper falls goes behind the lower falls. Pretty muddy!

I asked R to stand there for a picture so that we could show Uncle Jim how pretty Zion is, and she pulled this little pose out! What a funny girl!

Eating lunch at the upper fall.

This was so pretty! The water was pretty cold, but pretty to look at as well! :D

He is
stinkin' cute!

Uncle Mitch and R playing in the "Emerald Pools" I decided that it should be called Amber Pools. The color wasn't Emerald at all. Maybe it was the wrong season!

P had enough of the being in the backpack. So Jared carried him partway down.

Me and my baby!

Then we hiked/walked to the beginning of The Narrows. Jared became a "squirrel whisperer" along the way.

My beautiful family. P is passed out on my chest.

I LOVE ZION CANYON!!!! We had a real awakening trying to do hikes with TWO kids. They did great for what we had done. But we wished we could have done a few more hikes.............. without kids.
It was short, but a great getaway before Jared started his classes again! Thanks Mitch and Ev for letting us crash at your place this time!

Not to take away from your weekend because it looks like it was a lot of fun, but there is a park in PG that is just like that called Discovery Park. I'll show you someday and all the grandkids could go... they would love it.
What a great getaway! Zions is always such a fun place to go! I LOVE the picture of P looking up at the waterfall he is so cute! (well you all are) ;)
Definately put these places on my schedule for when I arrive. Sandy suggests putting a pic of Dora the Explorer in the pic of R posing for Uncle Jim. Also love the pic of P looking at the waterfall. I miss them so very much and of course you guys!!! They already look so much bigger! Glad that you are having such a great time.
Glad it was a beautiful day! Someday we'll stop being lame and come do more fun stuff with you guys again. Too bad Dar was at a scout training that weekend...
