On the 24th of July one of my dreams came true by hosting folkfest participants all by myself!
We have hosted, but we were living in my parent's basement. So this was the first year I got to alone! We were suppose to host dancers from Georgia, but they ended up not being able to make it. So we got two girls from Bulgaria, and we LOVED them!
There names were Anna and Alice. They were both 16 and so fun! Alice spoke a little English and Anna spoke enough to get by with some charades. Google translate was a huge help. Within 30 minutes of being at our house Anna was in a full on stuffed animal war with the kids. Payton and Reagan LOVED it!
We took them on a road in Springville that has a great view of the valley. They had come from a festival in Idaho so they didn't have jet lag. We played it pretty low on that Sunday.
The next morning Spanish Fork was celebrating Pioneer Day and the Folkfest had an entry in the parade. So our girls had to get dressed up and walk in the parade!
After the parade the girls wanted to go shopping.
Comes to find out is one of Alice's(the one of the left)favorite past time!
Our girls were SO thoughtful and bought Quinn this crown that lights up, a stuffed animal, and stickers for her birthday(even though we did nothing on her actual birthday)
Then we headed up to Bridal Veil Falls.
Payton found a heart that someone had made in the rocks!
We convinced them that hiking to the upper part of the waterfall is beautiful!
They loved it!
And no, the 3 in my family didn't plan on matching and wearing red! :)
Then we stopped by and got snow cones! YUM!!!!
We couldn't be happier with our girls!
They are sweet, fun, outgoing, and meshes perfectly with our family!
